In September last year Liberty Flights achieved accreditation to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems standards. This was a companywide achievement which built on the industry-leading quality systems already in place at Liberty Flights. This blog will explain a bit about what this accreditation involves and how it means you can be confident in the continuing quality of Liberty Flights products.
What is ISO 9001 Certification?
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental international organisation recognized throughout the world. The International Standards they publish give world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
ISO 9001 is a harmonised standard covering Quality management systems and is now one of the most widely applied international standards in the world.
Its strength lies in the fact that the same standard can be used in any organisation, in any industry, of any size, anywhere in the world.
It is based on 7 quality management principles including customer focus, leadership, engagement of people and relationship management such as with our suppliers. How was ISO 9001 certification obtained?
Firstly, Liberty Flights undertook a period of reviewing and refining the quality systems already in place, following the principles of ISO 9001. This involved hard work by all before an initial audit identified potential gaps in procedures and corrective actions were taken.
Secondly, Liberty Flights was audited by an external, independent assessor from ACM Limited (UKAS accredited) who looked closely at our procedures and concluded that Liberty Flights had met all the requirements, issuing us with our certificate (shown above).
The process doesn’t stop here. ISO 9001 requires continuous improvement of all procedures, a process Liberty Flights is committed to, and this will be monitored annually before we undergo recertification in 3 years time.

It was important to us to demonstrate the quality of our systems by undergoing independent assessment so that customers can be reassured that as long as the ISO 9001 mark is being displayed, Liberty Flights is working with integrity, quality and efficiency to provide the highest standard of product we can.
